What is Cycle Most Recent Tabs?

Cycle Most Recent Tabs is a keyboard shortcut that lets you quickly switch between your most recently used tabs, similar to how Cmd+Tab (Mac) or Alt+Tab (Windows) works for switching between applications.

How do I use Cycle Most Recent Tabs?

There are two ways to use it

Quick switch (between 2 most recent tabs):

  • Mac: Tap Opt + Tab quickly

  • Windows: Tap Ctrl + Tab quickly

This instantly swaps between your two most recently used tabs.

Visual menu (cycle through recent tabs):

  • Mac: Hold Opt and tap Tab repeatedly

  • Windows: Hold Ctrl and tap Tab repeatedly

A visual menu appears showing your recent tabs. Keep holding the key and tap Tab to cycle through them. Release to switch to the highlighted tab.

How do I set up Cycle Most Recent Tabs?

Navigate to comet://settings/shortcuts and find the "Cycle most recent tabs" option.

Important for Windows users: By default, Ctrl + Tab may be assigned to another function. You'll need to choose which shortcut behavior you prefer - enable Cycle Most Recent Tabs or keep the default tab cycling.

Mac users: There's no shortcut conflict - Opt + Tab is available by default.
